WA-Series can best be described as Light Duty or Utility Grade MPI Magnetizing Coils. No matter which ID Size, WA-Series Coils have an AC Output of over 4000 Amp Turns on a 115 Volt/60 Hertz Power and over 5000 Amp Turns with 230 Volt/50 Hertz Power.

The WS-Series complements our extensive list of Portable MPI Equipment. These powerful yet extremely light MPI Coils meet many applicable specifications for MPI. The WS-Series use Western Instruments’ innovative Capacitive Discharge Power Supply.

Our WP Series Coils complement our existing Coil line-up of Magnetic Particle Inspection Equipment. WP Series Coils offer over 7000 Amp Turns of Half Wave DC Output and 4000 Amp Turns in AC. WP-Series Magnetic Particle Inspection Coils are set apart from other coils due to their Demag Option, which allows for Reversing and Decaying DC Magnetization.

The WD-Series Coils are designed specifically for Magnetic Particle Inspection and have grown in popularity from the Oil Country Tubular Goods Inspection Industry. Drill Pipe, Couplings and other Drilling Tools are regularly inspected for Transverse Cracks, which are normally found in the last engaged thread.

The WM-5 and WM-5LT are Hinged Frame units, equipped with Rotating Contact Feet, which easily permits the inspector to maximize the contact area between the Dual Contact Surfaces on the pole pieces and the workpiece. Both units have field replaceable magnet cartridges, in the unlikely event of a failure.

The WM-5C is our Cable Type Permanent Magnet Yoke. The Coated Cable allows a great deal of flexibility to easily permit maximum contact area between the Non-Ferrous contact surface and the workpiece. The Hand Grip is Ergonomically designed for operator comfort, with provisions for easy removal off the workpiece.

The ergonomically designed housing combined with its light weight, reduces operator fatigue and strain permitting better and longer inspections. The compact design allows the WC-9 to fit into confined spaces better than our full-size W-Series Models. Combined with our Universal Articulating Pole Pieces, the WC-9 can fit almost any configuration of work piece.

The WC-8 has a special module that converts 12 Volts DC into a pulsed signal, that allows the unit to lift over 50 pounds to comply with DC specifications, but the pulsed DC field induces particle mobility similar to an AC Yoke. The WC-8 draws less than 1/2 Amp, so a 3.0 Amp/Hour Battery Pack will last you a full day (based on Western Instruments’ Battery Duration Tests).

The WE-7 lifts over 10 pounds (4.5kg) in AC Mode and lifts over 50 Pounds (23kg) in DC Mode, exceeding ASTM or ASME Specifications. The WE-7 is equipped with infinitely variable DC output, so depending on the workpiece size, the operator doesn’t have to risk saturating a small part.

This revolutionary Light Weight Yoke is over 30% Lighter than any of our other AC Yokes (WC-6 WC-6×2, WE-3HD, & WE-3), with a hand grip that is 40% smaller. The WE-3LT lifts well over 10 pounds, exceeding ASTM or ASME Specifications for AC Yokes. Performing Magnetic Particle Inspection, with an AC field, is the fastest and easiest way to find surface discontinuities.

The WE-3HD is based on the industry standard for Yoke construction, however has Western Instruments’ Ruggedness and quality built in. The ergonomically designed housing combined with its light weight, reduces operator fatigue and strain, for more effective inspections.

Apollo 3.0 is traceable to NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology) and is compliance with ISO 3059-12.
